We are THE platform that showcases the passion and the stories that inspire our audience. Our mission is to bring you a crafted version of the excitement for Friday night lights and capture the significance of every play, every choice, and every moment that makes high school football in Stark County and Northeast Ohio special. We follow the principles of integrity, respect, and partnership, setting the standard for coaches, athletic departments, student-athletes, and fans alike.

Our canvas extends beyond the gridiron. In our “How Did It Happen podcast series ” in our library gallery, where the vibrant stories of athletes are etched in bold strokes. Here, we trace the contours of their triumphs and trials, their drives and dreams, crafting a narrative that resonates with authenticity and connects on a profound human level. We are SPARTAN SPORTS OHIO, the curators of resilience, the narrators of determination, and the heralds of sports as a transformative force. Join us in this vivid journey as we celebrate the human spirit in every victory, every challenge, and every aspiration.
OUR STORY
Spartan Sports Ohio is a media platform established in 2024. Our team consists of four gentlemen of the utmost integrity and character. The genesis of our vision is focused on creating a “go-to library” for anyone who may need inspiration, guidance, and the attributes to help them in their athletic and life journey. Our “How Did it Happen podcast series” is the foundation on which we started. Since our inception, we have added Friday Night Lights, the live coverage and broadcast of High School Football games here in Stark County and Northeast Ohio. We will also be presenting a weekly High School Football roundup and two television shows, The High School Football Playbook and the High School Basketball Jam Session. We have built an amazing team, with experience and success across many sports.
Jim Ballard is a member of the College Athletic Hall of Fame. Mark Milano is a former outstanding track athlete and businessman with many years of experience calling High School Football games. JP Simon is a former elite offensive lineman at the University of Cincinnati, Assistant Coach of a High School State Championship Team, and business entrepreneur. Lastly, Rod Strata “Sparty” is A Michigan State University graduate and former football captain, including All-Conference and All-American Honors, and a former Global Supply Chain business executive.
